Illegal drugs use in young people three percent higher than 2018-2019.
According to the governments latest crime survey for England and Wales around 10% of young people aged between 20 and 24 have taken class A drugs in the last year.
And over half claiming they could obtain illegal drugs within 24 hours ‘easily’.
With this figure at its highest in 16 years we wanted to know how some of the 60,000 students living in Sheffield view illegal drugs and just exactly how easily they can get them.

Ricki, a third year student at University of Sheffield claims drugs have never been easier to get. “Even within the first day of moving in to my halls in first year I had at least two dealers numbers.
"Obviously not everyone is taking drugs at uni but its defiantly more than you would think.”
Gracey, who started University this September couldn't believe the how easily available illegal drugs were “It honestly shocked me, at home no one really does or speaks about drugs, I don’t judge people who are taking them but its just defiantly not for me."
We put out a survey to understand just how common drugs are amongst students and the results might shock you!
